Copperhead Description

The copperhead snake can range from a size of around 22 inches to about 53 inches. It can be a different shade of copper, brown ,organge, pink-tinged, with bold chestnut or reddish brown crossbands. There are often small dark spots between the crossbands. The belly of the Copperhead is pink or light brown with dark spots on the sides. The top of the head is a plain and unmarked organge color. It has a triangular shaped head with a heat sensitive pit between each eye and nostril. When the Copperheads are just born they are around 7 to 8 inches long and have a yellow tipped tail.
