Life history

For the Copperhead snake it takes 2 to 3 years for it to become mature and able to reproduce. The males will mate more than one female when then females will only mate every other year. The normaly breeding time is from Augest to October and form Febuary to April. It bears live young, in a litter of 1 to 10 snakes and they are 7-8 inches when they are born. The life expectancy of a Copperhead snake is 1 to 7 years and only 5% live older than 7 years.
